I worked with Professor Akiko Iwasaki to create figures for her Annual Reviews review on antiviral vaccines (Iwasaki, Annu. Rev. Immunol. 2016). This was a really great project to work on, and was the first review I created figures for. Akiko had a very clear vision of the concepts she wanted to convey and divided a complex topic into elegant vignettes, which made it straightforward and fun to illustrate. I've always thought it would be fun to animate this figure.
